I'm a good boy - not 100% of use is business so I make a (albeit rather small) deduction for personal use!
Yeah, I'm in Software Development and do work from home a fair bit so the busines package does look like a good idea.
I can claim the majority of it against my tax return as well so makes it that little bit cheaper!
Majority ? All of it!

Majority ? All of it! Like your mobile phone or car ?
Phone - yes ...
Car - charge for every journey but I own it!

There is actually no need to ... provided it is "primarily for business" then there it should be fully deducted.

No, my employer permits reasonable use and it is NOT a taxable benefit and does not need to be declaring to HMRC - prior to 1999 it was but then I "paid" my employer for any personal calls and avoided tax liability.

So you aren't actually VAT registered yourself I gather? I thought you were self-employed. As I remember it the phone is different then, but it's ten years since I dealt with the detail of my own and my employees so the memory fades.

So a standard "freelance contractor" setup. I assume by your "employer" you mean your limited company.

Nothing Ironic about it, the software I make I supply free of charge anyway - I'll even pay for the bandwidth on my web server for people to download it!
Now, to convince the MPAA of the merits of doing the same, how do you think I'll get on?
