It's available now on www.bt.com. The checkers says I don't have it yet but it's only a matter of time - I'm only about 100m from the cab.
Anyone ordered it ?

100 Meg service does not care how far you are from the cabinet, since its a FTTP solution.
Have you confused this with the 80 Meg product that launches today from Openreach, and the launch of pricing from BT Retail will follow shortly.

The new corner tab has been there for a while, signalling BT Retail starting to push its FTTP product.
BT Infinity 100 Mb is NOT a FTTC product and as Openreach only supply an up to 80 Meg VDSL2 connection it is obviously not that.

Yes - I assumed it was FTTC as the 80meg product was due to launch today. I checked and simply thought they'd gone for 100meg instead lol.

Can you tell me? - what technology are they using to double the bandwidth? is it switching from VDSL to VDSL2 or is it Vectored VDSL2..?

Thanks BatBoy - I see then they have never used the full 30Mhz the spec allows and are switching from 8Mhz to 17Mhz bandwidth use - cheers for the insight,
I wonder if they will ever use Vectored VDSL
What software do BT use on their Dslams/Msan etc? not ASSIA by anychance is it?
sorry for robbing OP's post

Vectored will come in time (2-3 years), but just at the stage that test hardware is being built by manufacturers, so very much at the cutting edge.
UK ANFP controls a lot of what can happen spectrum wise

Many Thanks It is and always was VDSL2. It has never been VDSL.
They have just enabled the higher speed available under profile 17a, which has been live but capped at 40/10 or 40/2 for several months.

Anyone ordered it ? What's your postcode? You may only be able to get it (in time) at high cost.
