Been like that on an 8MB line for months now

We need putting on a new VP, thats it and its all fixed but getting it done is proving to be im-[censored]-possible

Ive emailed btcare and im waiting for someone at BT in the UK to get back to me about this

But really, you need to pull your hands out your [censored] and just get this done. Its not hard. You did it for me last year when i had this exact same issue.

Its a case of, Hi BT, can i have the internet in exchange for the money that i have given you? No is the answer it seems

Ask for your MAC and move to a decent ISP.

What is your connection speed and line stats?

Thing is, if its congestion, moving ISP wont fix the problem.

Line stats are 100% fine, no errors either.

If you can move to LLU it would.

There might not be much you can do then. Asking for your MAC code can help as it shows you've had enough, you don't have to use the MAC code as your current service would just continue as is if you don't use it to migrate. Thing is if there is not competition (well only wholesale) then BT probably don't care, they will upgrade the VP when they feel like it.

Have you checked http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ to see if the VP is showing as red?

Im using a BT Openzone Hotspot that another BT Braodband user has set up on his/hers home hub.

Its just as slow as my own connection BUT webpages load quickly and i dont have to wait 20 sec or more for a page to load.

This all takes the [censored]

Update

Ive been up all night re-building my PC and ive just got it turned back on and i wanted to download something, Expecting it to be slow and its not.

Getting 6mb download at the moment witch is fine. But im betting by 10-12am it wont be and it will be butt slow again.

We shall see....

Speedtest.net is internet based, so might be the internet side of the BT Total service that is slow and thus nothing to do with exchange congestion
