Infinity/Home Hub Upgrade

A couple of months ago I received - like many others - a call from a company working on behalf of BT which was apparently upgrading hardware for Infinity users. They wanted to make an appointment, but it was really not a good time so I put them off a couple of times.

Now things have calmed down, was the upgrade necessary, and what exactly was it? Assuming it does need doing, does anyone have the company's contact details as I can no longer find them?

It could have been to change the modem for a model 3B which do not suffer the overheating problems that occurred in a lot of earlier models. Have a look on the back of your modem to find out which you have.

Mine is currently a V2.0 Type B(i) so this sounds possible.

Any idea who the company doing the subcontracted work was or how to get in touch?

As linked, it was Kelly's. The contract has now finished. If your service is working OK, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you do have problems in the future, the modem will be replaced as a matter of course, by the Openreach engineer who visits.
