I have been on Option 2 infinity since last October & never noticed any slow down on usenet until the last week or so.
I have been using an SSL connection & get around my full speed of around 60Mbps
Now in late afternoon & evening it drops to around 10-20Mbps.
I changed uesnet provider but they have assured me that I am using an SSL connection.
Any ideas?

I've just run a test download (Giganews) and got my normal 9.3MB/sec, though occasionally speeds fluctuate. Also I am not using SSL.
BT -> Zen -> F2S -> Bulldog -> Be* -> BT Infinity 2

Checkout newsdemon speeds are good .. max on my bt fibre 75mb and my vm 100mb
takedowns are not as fast as Giganews ..I had been with giganews for 7 years before swapping last month ... I now pay 1/4 what I did for giganews and can't see a diference

Shame you didn't include the referral link That's because this site does not allow referral links

I do wish mods would edit posts rather than delete the whole thing, a few times I have been reading old threads on here where a post has contained crucial information but was deleted for whatever reason. On one occasion it was a post at the end of a long thread I had sat and read through and the deleted post had a crucial bit of info in it. Very annoying.
Granted not every deleted post will have useful must keep info but some will and editing with a footnote and a reason would be much more user friendly. I hope you can take my feeback onboard. Thank you.

I agree it can be annoying, but can follow the logic of why they do it - explained many times over the years in TTTS.
The post in question didn't just contain a referral link to the service thribble suggested, it suggested that thribble's post should have contained one.
IIRC the main part was that the poster had taken a look, on thribble's recommendation, and switched to the service on a better deal that he had elsewhere. Platinum service I think.

I apologised to the Mod, and yes the gist was That I also had been with Giganews for many years and saved about £10 (half of what I was paying) by changing to the suggested news server on their Platinum Service which I needed because I wanted the VPN as well, and was surprised by the amount of cloud storage they have given me 10TB (wondering if this is a mistake),
I'll add to the latter bit, this is a new startup and is deffo not user friendly, you can only upload one file at a time via their web interface, so until they get things up and running properly, I don't think I'll be using it, I already have plenty of cloud space elsewhere, anyone who was on Be probably knows my main one for backups

I see, pointless bring it up again then if it's been discussed before. I suppose I should pop over to TTTS and seek out this logic, but what's the point, knowones listening and whatever the logic it will still be annoying.
In this case I did catch it before it was removed and it could of been edited with a note. No worrys anyway, I've said my peace, if the powers that be wish to take it onboard and review procedures to improve the site they are free to do so, or not.

I signed up after your post because it is cheaper per month than SN, and got 10TB on pro too. It's unusable though, just one file at a time through the web, no ftp access and the file I did eventually get uploaded didn't appear in the file manager. Unusable ATM, which is a shame. Cheaper usenet access though so thanks for mentioning it.
If you don't mind I'll email you to ask what your currently using for online backups. Don't want to go anymore offtopic.
