In reply to a post by Chrysalis:
usually? BT now £7 for that.

BT are milking it. Talktalk, Sky, Plusnet and everyone else charge around a fiver.

In reply to a post by Chrysalis:
Since my mobikle covers all my needs (and I think is same for many people) why would I pay BT £7 for unlimited calls.

Indeed, why would you. I think there are a lot of people on PAYG mobiles though (I am one of them).

Still free if you pay LRS from what I read and as mine is paid up until EO March, looks like I'm stuck with a BT line until then, but I could probably save some money by moving my Infinity2 package to someone else.

In reply to a post by Chrysalis:
Caller display was previously free if made enough chargeable calls per month (I think 2?) but otherwise £1.50.
Now its £1.75 regardless if making calls or not.
On mobiles caller display comes as standard.

I find the best solution is to always call mobile numbers from a mobile or use 18866

In reply to a post by Chrysalis:
BT's inclusive call packages continue to not include mobile numbers. Mobile inclusive minutes do include mobile numbers.

Okay if you make lots of calls, but not if you only make a couple of calls a month, I'm going to ditch mine and use 18866 (shame they don't include 0844 numbers)

In reply to a post by Oliver341:
Landline providers usually charge around £5 a month for unlimited anytime calls to 01/02/03 landlines and 0845/0870 numbers, which I think is pretty good value.

Even more of a shame is that 18866 often messes up outgoing caller display.

I've never been on the receiving end of one of their calls, so perhaps you can enlighten me.

I stopped using 18866 when it became clear many people saw my caller id come through as "international" or "unavailable" and didn't pick up the phone.

Problem is if 0844 was included then all companies would change to another 084* paid for number. This is not the fault of BT.
I will stay with BT not worth change for limited saving.
LRS and £5 anytime calls with 6p Mobile calls + 15p set up. Privacy free for another year with registration..
Cancel 1571 and use answer phone.
I have sky TV but have to pay to phone them, now that is a rip off IMO

Ah!, thanks for that, so far I've only ever used it for International calls, but it could still be useful for calls to companies, government etc, I tend to use my mobile for calls to friends and relatives.

Yeah, disappointing for me though since 18866 is very cheap. I did contact their customer services about it but they said outgoing caller display cannot be guaranteed due to the variable low-cost routing they use for calls.

Fair enough for the price, but reliable outgoing caller display isn't really optional in these days of junk calls aplenty.

I have both Sky and BT TV, thinking of ditching Sky if I can get the extra channels working on the YouView boxes.

Anytime calls is going up to £7
I've never used 1571 seeing as my phone & Router have answerphone ability

Haven't tried it myself but got this number from somewhere to get through to Sky 01506 421 707

I hate 08xx numbers except of course 0800, I think they should do away with them all and use geographic codes, now that most people get them for free on mobile and other packages.
