i used [email protected] . Had a reply inside 10 minutes and a phone call inside 20.
We're speaking again tomorrow , me and the chap from the Chairman and Chief Executive's Service Team (BT Retail). I won't name him, it wouldn't be fair as many people know the BT email format and I don't want him deluged - whilst the CEO gets paid so much i don't care if you email him...

Great, thanks - I didn't expect the "e" in the middle smile. Maybe there's more than one GP.

There outsourced overseas based outfit that they call customer support is a joke at the customers expence, they are unable to sort out the most of basic requests, resulting in executive level complaints doing the job for them,

Why BT haven't carried out their plan to bring customer support back to the uk i don't know, they certainly charge the customer a premium compared to some other providers , Just maybe if they binned the current overseas outfit, and offered uk based support again they may see an increase in customers ,but maybe not

The chat helpline responds very quickly and has helped me out several times - all Indian names but they know what they're doing on the technical side. Why is overseas necessarily worse than British? The 0800 number gets you through to India too, but again very good, IMHO.

Each time that i have needed to contact that sad excuse they regard as support , i have had to escalate to ELC because the dumb a** who i spoke to couldn't do the job, there support is not fit for purpose , and the last time i had to call them was regarding a simple billing error on their part , they failed to sort it after telling me that they would,
As for overseas support being worse than a British, based I did not say that , but seeing as you brought it up :
The language difference and their lack of understanding it properly is one major part of it, Secondly i wasn't referring to the technical support but customer support for voice services , every time that i have needed their help they have in some way failed,mis-understood the basic English that i spoke to them, not only that ,the company is called British telecom after all, And employing cheap labour in a foreign country does nothing for our economy either
As for their online chat, it's not easliy accessable if your broadband isnt working ,not that i personally would ever need to contact bt retail regarding broadband as i would never choose them as my ISP

You must have had different people than I did then, most of the time I had difficulty understanding what they were saying, and because my problems were not on their scripts, 9 times out of 10 they ended up having to get a UK support bod to call me back.

Agreed, in 12 years at this address BT support, both CS and TS, are the worst I have encountered by far, and that is saying something.

It's roughly how long I have been at this address. The only ones worse than my recent experience with BT were Bulldog that time they ended up on Watchdog. Ironically, I stated off with BT at this address on their 2 MB unlimited and they were fantastic, both quality of the actual connection and their then CS. I only changed when BT brought in the 30 GB cap. After Bulldog, they are the worst CS/TS I have experienced. How things have changed.

Re: BT bl**dy useless

Started with BT and back then they were the best. Moved to Bulldog, vomit, then F2S, good at first then changed their terms. Went to UKFSN, brilliant but things changed so went to Be for ADSL2+ Annex M, the best, the very best. Then went back to BT for Infinity 2 last year, didn't fancy SKY as I had a terrible time sorting out a problem for a friend with them a few months earlier.

However, apart from Bulldog who were a nightmare, today's' BT is very definitely the worst ISP I have been with. The CS and TS while extremely poiite are out and out useless jobsworths. I don't think they have done a single thing right since I signed on with them, from the failure of their system to put through my online I2 order after taking my line back to it taking literally months and numerous cals and repeatedly being lied to before I finally getting my £100 Sainsbury card.

The last contact I had with them was over a drop of 20 Mbps in my download speed. This had happened twice before a few months apart when BT had had problems with their systems due to the extreme weather and the like but each time it had been reset after a few days after telling them there was a problem back up to full speed. The third time it happened I got a right little jobsworth who basically told me to screw myself, though it was said very politely.

Obviously I won't be staying when my contract ends or buy myself out as soon as I can afford it. So far I know a dozen people who have avoided BT Infinity on my recommendation. Ironically, they have either gone to SKY Infinity and couldn't be happier or have gone to Plusnet and are also happy frown smile
