Please could somebody tell me will I get just a HomeHub 5 or a separate modem as well (going for BT Infinity 2)?
Many thanks

The default now is just the HH. If you want a modem, you may be able to. I don't know. They are able to order it from Openreach for you, but whether they will or not might depend on who you talk to.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

With BT you are mot obliged to use their supplied router[s] and therefore in most cases will need the Openreach modem. But with your own router, support from BT may be problematical.

You can get modems from eBay, but worth asking your installing engineer if they have one.

Assuming they actually visit the house.

BT appears to do all self install for Infinity 1 but Infinity 2 is engineer, at a guess to try and ensure people paying more for speed get a better speed.
Also promotes the 2 as the premium service.

Got a HH5 and engineer install for my Infinity 2 last month, no offer of a separate modem. Using a hacked HG612 rather than the HH built in modem so I can monitor.
