I think banks only generally reverse charges where they were made in error - in this case the charge was to pay for a service that you have subsequently cancelled so the charge was valid.
No harm in trying the bank but I doubt they have powers to reverse legitimate payments.
My Mum was miles in credit after BT didn't adjust payments down automatically (oddly they adjust them up quickly enough). It took over 6 months to get it credited because they apparently can only credit a certain amount at a time - they are worse than even the electric/gas companies at taking overpayments and then not refunding them.

Should "would be back without 5 working days" be "within"?

I've no idea what I was in your deleted reply, but I genuinely thought there was a typo in your post. Very possibly a wrong "autocorrect" which I frequently see coming from my spellcheckers, and often don't notice till after posting.
As it is, I shall remain ignorant of what "would be back without 5 working days" means, if it shouldn't be "within".
I agree having to wait 40 days was ridiculous and unacceptable. Waiting up to five working days, (assuming "within"), seems perfectly normal.

Just to prove they are idiots with no clue
Random made up name at my new address with 10yr living here - made up DOB and passed credit check with £0 deposit.
[censored] fools!
And you accuse them of lying. Providing false information in order to pass a credit check sounds a little bit like fraud to me.

No need to let grammar nazis lose on your forum. Unless you like allowing people offend others
It appears your so-called 'grammar nazi' didn't lose. If anyone lost is was you.
Or did you mean loose?
The spelling police are after you as well.

I have had the same experience with Sky & VM when it comes to refunds.
With regard to spelling and grammar... If you want people to take the time to respond constructively then make the effort to post properly. We all now have the tools at hand to check spelling and grammar within seconds and if you cannot be bothered then what does that tell us about the person posting?
Type it up, re-read it, and read it again. That way you are far less likely to get mixed responses.
OR
Type it up in MS Word (or Google Docs) and then paste it in. Spelling and grammar taken care of.

U can sued BT Openreach for unfit purpose work by the third party contractor!
Thanks but I stick to my current version. I wait until few months later from other reviews first.
I think it disgraceful for the phone support waiting time is taken too long but there shouldn't be too long to wait because it expand two call centres now in Sheffield and Leeds

Surprisingly enough, they do!
Having said that, I would be very surprised if they used those powers on behalf of an individual!

Also, being grammatically correct, Nazis should have a capital N......
