Static IP on BT Business Fibre

We decided to take out the BT Business Hub and replace with a Draytek but our static IP keeps changing. Do BT bind the static IP to the mac address of the router?

Seems very strange

No - or not in my experience. I have changed my router several times and my Static IP has remained the same.
