Im currently paying £22.35 for Infinity2 incl anytime calls
I'm ideally after a free HH5 although I'm told its nothing to write home about.
Have been offered £25/month but would have to pay for hub but would get free carriage.
Today I was told I could continue on my current price indefinitely after my contract expires. Sounds too good to be true but surprised I hadn't been told this previously. Can anyone reassure me pls that this would be the case? Or are there better deals to be had?
I don't have BT sport

Is that some deal for the first so many months? I would have thought you were paying £22.35 + £15.99, which would be highly relevant seeing as you are asking for better deals.

Sorry Robert I don't understand your question. The prices I'm paying and have been quoted exclude line rental (which I pay up front).

You've just answered it.
Most people associate inclusive calls with line rental, not with broadband. The presentation of the bundles on the BT website is unusual, but many would read your OP as Broadband + line + calls. As I did, so wanted to check.
Are you only looking for BT Retail deals then? Not any other ISP.

I was told I could continue on my current price indefinitely after my contract expires. These contracts never expire; only the min. term does. However the ISP has the right to increase prices at any time by giving you due notice. If the rise is to your 'material disadvantage', usually above RPI, you are free to leave w/out charge.

Thank you
Even under contract they increased the price of my anytime calls package. I was under the impression that the contract protected me against price rises but I know now that it is not the case. So it looks like there is no advantage in renewing my contract.

You don't 'renew' these contracts. You mean there is no advantage in staying with BT on your current package?

You have a point there. The ASA might agree with you.
The product you have is Infinity 2 with Anytime calls. End of! That package requires you to have line rental, which is subject to price rises. Not the same thing at all as Line rental plus a call package.
The T & Cs may make it clear, but the offer for sale implies what you say. I haven't time to check the T& Cs, as it has stopped raining so a chance to walk the dog in comfort.

I want to stay with BT but I don't see any point in taking out another contract considering I'm getting a good price with them IMO.

You are lucky to be on £22.35 for Infinity2 incl anytime calls; it certainly looks as if recontracting would cost you more and you would just get weekend calls.
You might be missing out on BT Sport and BT Cloud; both of very little value to me but they may be helpful for you.
You could save by going to PlusNet, especially if their £15 Unlimited Fibre was adequate (still has 20Mbps upload unlike most similar packages), and you would save more than £60 during the introduction period. I'm considering doing that when my Line Rental Saver runs out (currently on around £27 rolling contract for Infinity 2 with evening and weekend calls).

When I was offered the £25 a few days ago on the phone they didn't mention the anytime calls package I assumed (maybe wrongly that it was included). Today they told me that it would be an additional £6 or £7. However, the share holder url clearly shows anytime calls are included @£25 but offer expires in 2 days. When i mentioned that to them they said to get that price I should renew online.
Dont use BT sport. BT cloud could be good if it allowed me to select which folders/files I wanted to back up.
PNets unlimited fibre is £17.49, if i wanted the £15 I would need to bring my landline over to them. But I would like unlimited fibre extra priced at £22.49. Looks like i should stay with BT plus I do love having BT fon and I use their smarttalk app.
My main query really was could any BT user beat my price, so far no one has stepped forward so I'm pleased about that. I'm also reassured that there is no benefit in me renewing my contract with BT.

I have many reservations about the BT Cloud service; in its early days it was very slow and bug ridden but may have improved now.
The worst is that is isn't (or wasn't) a real backup as it loses deleted files and doesn't have proper file history. Deleted files are available as files, but all the folder structure is lost.
But BT Cloud does allow you to select folders to back up. Using the client, click on the area in the bottom left where it says 'Backup Complete' or something similar.
That will bring up a settings panel that allows you to choose folders to back up.
(Another of my reservations is the absurdly bad user interface that hides features in this way.)

OK thank you. I stand corrected but there was something that it wouldn't let me do so I uninstalled it.

Completely agree. Infinity 2 is costing me £26 alone.
Stay on what you have got.

Are there any deals for staying with BT, I have infinity 2?
Also without phoning how do you know when your contracts up, think mine is soon?

They'll knock about £5 a month off if you phone them and suggest you might leave. Seems to vary from day to day and representative to representative.
Currently the base price for staying is higher than even the base price for new joiners (quite apart from the other discounts for new joiners).
If you move to PlusNet they have lower prices, good joiners discounts, and a significant cashback from Topcashback (ending tomorrow).
