Hello
I currently have a BT line with TalkTalk Broadband (Unlimited).
This costs:
BT Line Rental £140
BT Cost of calls £120
TalkTalk Broadband £180
Total Cost per year £440
Today I received the following deal:
http://www.broadband.bt.com/infinity650/?s_cid=con_e...
Apart from the absence of WebSpace, it would seem I am getting a faster speed, BT sport and it is going to be much cheaper.
If I switch, what can I do about the webSpace?
The deal seems too good to be true. Is it?
Many thanks

Get yourself a domain name under your control, webspace and ISP-independent email. Then you never have to worry again about changing ISP. There's a link to Tsohost on that page and here.
Brilliant 24-hour support and a very good service in general.

Hello
Many thanks for replying.
I have had a domain name for many years. It is maintained by One and One: https://www.1and1.co.uk/
This has worked well but no webspace was provided, so I used that provided by TalkTalk (Tiscali), publishing the website via Microsoft front page.
I'll have to ask them if they provide WebSpace and if so how much it costs.

Yes, I should have noticed that myself. The 20GB limit is the catch.

TBH I fail to see the point in offering fibre speeds with a 20GB limit.
You could use that in a day

1&1 do both an email only service using your domain name, costs about £12/annum IIRC. They have a number of offers for web sites, with a number on offer at £0.99/month for the first year then from £2.45/month after the year and you get the email package as part of any website package..

TsoHost Lite £15 a year. Webspace for two sites officially but I can get more on. 10 mailboxes with unlimited aliases.

Yeah, both offer good packages.

At the moment I am paying One and One around £8 every two years for the "instant domain registration package"
As regards WebSpace, this was the reply I got from One and One:
"We actually offered four (4) webhosting packages that will allow you to have a webspace and access FTP. You can refer to the link below for more information about our webhosting packages. Certainly, you can still use Microsoft FrontPage as your FTP Cllient. Webhosting Packages
http://www.1and1.co.uk/hosting-linux?__lf=Static&lin... "
According to the above link, "Basic" WebSpace costs £5 per month, whereas with TalkTalk it is included in the Broadband package.
Is there a list on ThinkBroadband of which ISP's provide WebSpace?
Many thanks

That's expensive. Rip-off even. I pay £6.70 per two years. Plus the £14.99pa for hosting gives a total of £1.53pm.
What's the TLD of your domain?
