Fully installed? Or just stood up? i.e. there is copper pairs to connect, fibre to blow and power to install and earthing and cabinet testing.

According to the X army engineer fully completed and good to go for the 30th of September 2015

I have now have been told mar 31st 2017 both by zen and bt senior director management and yet again they have no idea as to why there is another delay totalling 6 years

As I have always said BT, know nothing about broadband or even how it works at least with zen and Richard tang you have a person who does

At the end of the day, i cannot see this cabinet going live and my good friend in zen management cant also

On the downside for me personally i promised the estate as it 's chairman that i would be on the ball to make sure that it would be provided with fibre at the earliest opportunity back in 2011 this i have failed to achieve for the estate and have offered my resignation of which has been declined

We are of an opinion that BT are not capable of anything meaningful with many on the estate having to complain over the years with their phones not even working

Most people on out estate now just use their mobiles 4g/3g, which is perfect for their needs having realized this fiber, was going to be a myth and have worked around their concerns also saving £25 in costs in line rental etc

At the end of the day, the speed on offer for fibre is less than 4G so this whole exercise of trying to get fibre has been a complete waste of everyoneís time

I just thank god I donít have to work for the likes of BT

I was under the impression that work had recently restarted on this cabinet after the previously stated delay, and the power has been connected recently but work is still to be done on the fibre and copper ties.

The engineer i spoke to last said that it was done as far as he was concerned and will be connected at the end of September 2015

All I get from bt management is the same old mantra itís complicated but open-reach wont expand on that

I told them to forget it the estate is no longer interested in fibre and that those involved get a nice sleep and look for a better type of job one that could be much better productive to the public and preferably one that had an ending

You obviously know more than I do so do please let me know when this saga has finished thank you

Just resurrect this thread again in a few months and we'll see if there's been any more progress

Yes I will but I would doubt that very much as there is no one on the estate who wont's it now as i said above everyone has worked around it and in reality it's no longer needed

just a small update to this long saga. i have been told today that our cabinet is at the commissioning stage and to expect a phone call from zen soon to be able at long last to get vdsl

i have over the years made a few good friends at zen and despite this long overdue saga i still hold them in high esteem and look forward to my 16th year with them

The estate now has fibre with speeds of around 70 download and 20 up. the BT and zens websites however are only showing 15 download which as always from BT is wrong

Zen however on the strength of the WRONG information their end recommended me the 40 download 10 up package so will make do with that and see how it behaves itself

i'm getting 38 down and 10 up so well pleased

It's only 3 pounds extra a month for the full 80 download package and 20 up but if it's not going to be needed there's not much point ordering it at this time
