Swap HH5 for decent modem

Is there a guide for doing this, and, are there any recomendations for the best modem?

I do not need a modem router as I will be redeploying my Airpoirt Extreme for that side of things, so just need a really good stable modem to replace the HH5.

HG612 off eBay. Make sure it's a 3B. IIRC often a higher sync than the Home Hub.

Cheaper if you buy it locked and unlock it yourself. Unlocking is simple. Then you can see the full line stats.

Billion 8800NL can be configured as a modem or a modem router, has 2.4GHz wifi too. Broadcom chipset, can see the stats, can be used with DSLStats, can be bought brand new.

Ok just ordered one. Got one already unlocked but I won't need that as it seems dslstats is windows only.

Plug and play - as long as you're happy setting up a PPPOE connection on the airport. Important thing to remember is the username: [email protected]

I am happy with sorting the airport out, I meant connection of the modem to the infinity.

That should be all you need.

Connect the power, let it fully boot and then connect the DSL port to the Filter/Face plate.

Connect LAN 1 to your Airport and away you go ...

Once you are happy with it running, connect LAN2 to a LAN port on the Airport and you can then access the stats directly.
