Hi All,
I have recently joined BT (from Virgin) and once I had placed my order with BT I was immediately able to log on the openzone using my BT details. However, since the Infinity broadband has been connected to BT I am finding it harder and harder to log into the hotspots. It says connected to Internet and I enter my login details but it always seems to fail to log me in. But after about 100 attempts it will let me log in so this confirms that my details are correct. Any ideas anyone?

I am trying to connect with a laptop and I think the app only works on Android phones and tablets etc? There's a Windows 8.1 version on Microsoft's Store, this its free it seems.

If you are in a cluster of Openzone hotspots all of similar strength it seems to randomly pick one to connect to. If for some reason that hotspot is not allowing logins (signal strength not quite strong enough / already running at capacity / ?) then next time you try it could connect to another which does let you log in. It is a failing of the system that they all called the same [censored] thing. Adding some uniquifier to the SSID would be a big help.

Hi, Yes, I am using my primary account email address. The strange thing is that about every 100-200 tries it will let me log in?!

Call the Openzone helpdesk - the number is normally on the logon page.
The other thought and something deep down seems to be reminding me although I don't know what, is connected with your password. In the distant past I remember either having a problem or sorting out a problem with WiFi logon where the password contained a couple of non-alphanumeric characters and for some reason, something somewhere did not like them and the login failed. Tweaking te password sorted it. Don't ask for any more details - I cannot remember, except that it happened and could not be explained.

Hi, Thanks for your help. I have already called the Openzone helpdesk who confirmed that all my details were correct, and that I cannot log in because of a weal signal, although I have no trouble getting the login page up and it says the signal is excellent. My password does not contain any special characters. However, I have not been able to login now on the Openzone for a few days, and I have tried 100s of times!

Are you talking about your own Openzone hotspot or some other ones when out and about?

Same problem with both!

Sounds as though you are receiving a good signal however your transmitted signal is weak ... could well be your device (PC/phone) is failing.
