Swap Home Hub 4 with 5

If you you intend to still use the OR modem and have the HH5 just replace the HH4, then don't turn the modem off and nothing will be affected.

However, if you plan to replace the modem as well with the HH5 then power the modem down before removing the phone connector, and don't power the HH5 up until the phone connector is re-connected.

I intend to solely use the HH5.

So,

Power off HH4
Power off HG612

Connect HH5 to phone line
Power on HH5

Correct?

Power off HG612 and leave for a few seconds.

Disconnect the cable from socket to HG612

Set up as much of the HH
Power up HH5 and allow it to fully boot - that way it is not trying to establish the connection whilst teh boot process is in porgress and you will have a stable HH5. Check settings are correct.

Connect HH5 to socket.

Allow it to sync and that is it.

It is there now ... I was typing it as you replied.
