PPPOE Is Down

Can anyone explain what this means and should I be concerned ?

Point to Point Protocol Over Ethernet, or something similar.

If your current equipment is connected to the internet OK, then don't worry. AT a guess you are using ADSL rather than VDSL, as the former would use PPPoA instead.

What problem are you experiencing ?

Just noticed this when checking my hub following the firmware farce.

Is PPPoA reporting as up? The connection will ether use PPPoE or PPPoA I believe - if one is up the other will be down.

Will certainly keep watching as ive had two 'downs' in recent days that last around 14 seconds which seems interesting. Maybe this is an issue from modem to green cabinet.

In that case it sounds like it is PPPoE and you are losing the link layer for some reason. Would have helped if you had given that snippet of information in the first place. Is there any other background info you can give us that might help answer your question?
