BT Infinity.. Queries..

I am thinking of switching to BT infinity from Sky fibre.
Reasons being financial benefits new customers with any providers plus BT offering 12 month contract..
Well most providers seems to prefer new customers than loyal ones!!

Had few queries : -

1) Is BT install as straight forward as sky install? i.e a hub through the post which u can self install by just plugging it in..

2) When I go through uswitch links the price is 20 pounds per month.. whereas if i go to bt site thru topcashback its 25 per month...is that a uswitch offer?

3) is there still a sainsbury voucher on offer?

4) re: the free bt sport - is it available thru sky box only?

1. It used to be that the Infinity 1 (40/10) was self install and Infinity 2 was engineer install but Infinity 2 is now self install as well unless BT think there is a problem with your line when you place the order when they will tell you if you need one.

2. uswitch etc, don't know.

T3. he last Sainsbury's offer looks as if it is over until the next one as whenever there is one active one of the staff puts a sticky with the relevant details at the beginning of this forum. Also, according to BT you need to order online from BT com to get the Sainsbury's offer.

4. Don't use BT TV myself but AIUI you can view it online or via a Sky type setop box.

Yes there is a gap in the vouchers currently, and as for uswitch and our listings too, there are some offers only available following the links on these sites, that can be better than the TV adverts sometimes too.

On the Sky Digital Satellite Platform

On BT TV with BT Infinity or BT Broadband

On the BT Sport App or on btsport.com

will probably give 1 month notice to sky in couple of days and then order infinity to start in a month..

do i need a mac code to move from sky fibre to infinity?

No MAC needed. AIUI BT don't even have anywhere to enter it.

I don't think you get much control over the installation date.

re: install date - wont there control even if i place order 4 weeks (and simultaneously giving 1 month notice to current provider..) in advance?

i shud be okay with plus or minus few days..

Just order with BT, they will do the rest.

Install date is when it is - generally around 3 weeks seems the norm, but you will probably end up paying for notice period on old provider even if you've left already.

i understand..
so if i give notice to sky and order infinity on the same day i may be paying for both for roughly a week or so...that shudnt be too bad..

i can understand that i cant bring install date forward as the date they gave wud be their earliest available date..

but cant i tell BT i dont need service to start in 3 weeks but only need in 4 weeks..
cant i put the install date back either?
