Latest HH5a firmware?

[link to this post]

Well I had fortnightly rebooting issues with my HH5a so I just reverted to my trusty HH4 + HG612 combo.

What's the latest HH5a firmware and has this rebooting issue been fixed already?

No the latest firmware hasn't fixed this issue.

My HH5 still reboots every 2 weeks. However it's never been a problem to me as it always reboots about 2 am.

It is supposed to do that, it isn't an issue. This is when any downloaded firmware is installed.

Agreed, my HH4A reboots every 2 weeks or there about and it hasn't had an firmware update since January.

I think the sole reason the Home Hubs get reset every two or so weeks is because they become unstable and need the reboot.

If we didn't have such a bad faulty line here I would be using our FRITZ!Box 3390 which runs faster and better than the HH4A that we have here.

Roll on when our FTTP goes live (still waiting for database to go live) possibly end of July.

Think what you like that's the reason for it. When a new firmware is downloaded it doesn't immediately install, it waits until the next scheduled reboot which is every 2 weeks.

I didn't say anything about a firmware being downloaded every two weeks.

Even if it did reboot for the slightly obscure reasons you believe that would still make it a function and not a issue.

I have HH5 (b) and that does not reboot every two weeks. According to the log it appears to do a check during the early hours but does not reboot. Last time it had been 30 odd days.
Strangely, I have to reboot it myself if I want to use the "free" BT WiFi when friends stay. This stops working after a few days, no idea why.

Without proof I think you made that up

Mine reboots religiously every 2 weeks. As does my neighbour's.

I have it going through a hg612 as well, so it's not even doing any modem duties.

Don't you find that disruptive and slightly annoying?

I used the HH5 on my new Infinity connection until an issue with BT TV was resolved, it would regularly restart, would not hold full synch ( I can spit on the cab) and was swamped when very busy. Flashed HG612 and a Billion router hold full synch for many days, with a more stable throughput too. BT TV works with a simple setting change on the router.

Ditch the thing, it's cheap and nasty.

What's the latest HH5a firmware now?

Mine shows Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204 (Type A) Last updated 18/02/15

I'm only using it as a router, with the HG612 connected as a modem.

Mine's BT Home Hub 5 (Type A) | Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.204.1.11 | Last updated 23/07/15

It seems to regularly reboot, usually at night. Did so at 5am this morning.

I do on my HH4 (Type A) I was told by BT on the phone that its to free up resources on the device so that its more stable.
Ours and several of our neighbour's that are with BT all do the same.

But yeah, very annoying, especially when your on a very slow ADSLx connection and you have been downloading a +30GB patch/expansion that takes forever for the HH to just reboot and its worse if the place your getting the patch from doesn't support resume mad

*** update ***
I forgot to mention, its an internal procedure call (IPC) that gets called every 14 days that reboots the whole HomeHub.

Let me dig up my logs.
