have seen phones go faster over Wi-Fi record there is a BT FTTP user with 200 Mbps on an iPhone 5
Erm, I have a 5S and WiFi tops out at 150mbps on 5Ghz so either it was another device or bad test result.
iPad Mini 2 does 300mbps so maybe test confused an iPad for iPhone

I was surprised but data looks good, maybe someone skewed user agent of course, but yes generally tablets seem to do better

Sorry, had a 5 minute break in a meeting and speedtest.net was already on my phone so was the only thing I had time to run.
Now I have left the meeting I can only get HSDPA locally and so wouldn't give the 4G speeds. Will try and do a test later in a better location.
As I said earlier I hardly ever do speed tests on mobiles - was actually surprised at how fast it ran.

Erm, I have a 5S and WiFi tops out at 150mbps on 5Ghz That's because it doesn't support wireless-AC.

Yes exactly my point... so how could someone have run 200mbps through something that "on paper" is capable of only 150mbps...

I think that different channel widths have different speed limits - 20MHz, 40MHz, 60MHz, and 80MHz. It all depends on the channel width in use on the router.

Yes and based on maximum capability of the iPhone 5S which is 1x1 N 5GHz using 40Mhz width = 150Mbps or 72mbps single band 5ghz 20mhz
iPad Mini 2nd Gen uses 2x2 5Ghz 40mhz = 300mbps

But your question was what the 4G speed is. All these high ones are via FTTx routers and WiFi, which is nothing to do with your question.
The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.

Just the info I needed, my son's phone is currently on O2, and it sucks big time in Falmouth where he is at Uni. Cheers all.

I've been using BT Mobile for a while now and so far so good. 4G speeds topped out at 30Mbps down and 15Mbps up, and i've seen 22Mbps down and around 2Mbps up on 3G. Beat vodafone where I live by a country mile lol
