I've just switched to BT, lured partly by Sainsbury Voucher offer. Does anyone know how long the vouchers are valid for? It's a major expedition to get to a Sainsburys so it could be some time before I could get to use it.

I just finished using one that was nearly two years old that I had been using every few months. According to the Sainsbury FAQ, you have to use a gift card in store once in every 24 months or they expire and paper vouchers expire after two years whatever you do.
I claimed the voucher immediately the first byte went down the line. Our nearest Sainsburys is a 6hr drive away so we don't often go there, which is why I wanted to know how long you had before the use by date was up.
You can only use them in store, not online, though they keep saying that they plan to allow them to be used online soon. But the FAQ has been saying that for at least the last two year or so.
I'm sure Sainsburys want people to put feet in their stores. Part of the deal with BT probably expressly stipulates the vouchers are in-store only, despite what the FAQ claims. If BT paid face value for the Sainsburys vouchers then they might as well give away cash, so there's obviously something in it for Sainsburys to make them want to discount the vouchers.

I claimed mine immediately I went live with BT. It arrived in 2 weeks. My wife and I went and spent the whole £125 in a single shop as we had a large family party coming up
