Asking on behalf of a relation. On Infinity 1 Unlimited do BT provide a way of measuring bandwidth usage?
Relation wondering as he could perhaps change to 40GB / month variant.

The usage can be seen on internal systems but not by customers. So speaking to anyone in billing or retentions can tell you the usage over the past year.

I wonder why that might be... as if I couldn't guess. Can't have the customer knowing his usage, too much information

Given the pricing difference is £7/month at standard pricing, might be better to try and strike a deal on price for another 12 months

You used to be able to see it if you went to https://www.bt.com/appsyouraccount/usage/viewYourBro...
But I see they have changed it to "You're on unlimited!"
Shame... as I've found it very useful.

Yeah, I'm sure the cost savings BT made on removing the usage counter for unlimited customers were huge.
Not. :-/
On a related note, my relative uses under 25GB, so the £10 fibre package on Sky is a no-brainer considering it's Market A with no LLU.

I've now found that he looked at his router stats and that reports he's used 113GB in 5 days...
Methinks a 40GB limit might be a tad low!

Unlimited is usually a no brainer, as is striking a deal. I got through 110GB in a similar tem frame and i consider myself a light user lol. It's the Sky on demand stuff .... lol

It's possible that someone within wifi range is using BT FON to download lots of data...

Where do you see the stats? I can't find owt on my HH3? Not too sure about the HH3 but on the HH4 its [Advanced Settings]->[Broadband]->[Internet].
You should see something like the following:
Connection time: 0 days, 19:41:55
Data Transmitted/Received: 506.3 MB / 11.3 GB
Broadband username: [email protected]
Password: Not configured But like I said it might be different for the HH3.

You an always call up and find out the usage if you really want to.

Found it now. Looks like I had a spontaneous reconnect a couple of days ago so now showing roughly 3GB for two days.
As long as I am using over half of what a 40GB cap would allow then I am content to stay unlimited.
Edit: Of course some of that is non-chargeable Youview use so still not seeing the true picture.

I like how Sky handle their cap. They allow you to go over the cap once in a 6 month period. If you go over twice in a 6 month period they automatically move you to unlimited, so it's a risk free "try it and see".
Not sure what BT do, but I have a feeling they start applying per GB charges as soon as the cap is breached, which could be a very expensive first bill.
