My HH5 Type B rebooted yesterday and although i've come to expect this using a HH5 the reason given in the logs was:
13:41:28, 27 Apr. System start Button press (PowerButton)
13:41:12, 27 Apr. System up
Thing is no one was in the house so any ideas as to what that is about?

How odd, i never saw that with the Type A.
I'm beginning to think something is up with my line now, the Type A used to reboot every 14 days regular as clockwork before it went mental and the Type B set off like a good'un but rebooted after 10 days then on the next day i got a PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request] and then the day after that a button press.

Apart from the fact that is happening to many people, does anyone know why it's happening? Also, does it happen to other routers or only BT Hubs?
My did that too and was established by BT as faulty. I now have a replacement HH5 Type A and it appears to be more stable, although earlier days.

My HH4 Type A only ever reboots on the 14 day OpenRG trigger which is clearly by design. The HH5 Type B logs here look erratic and more likely to be some kind of software error.

Thanks. Do you know whether this is this a fairly recent problem with HH5 type B?

Well, I've only had the HH5 since February

My Type B does this about 14 days. Why it says button press when that was not the case I have no idea.
Plenty of this on BT Community Forum.

After Googling it someone changed the lease time to 21 days and said it stopped happening so i have done that and we will see but i am not holding my breath.

Well mine has just passed 10 days with no issues or phantom button presses, as with the 5GHz issue that's probably just put the mockers right on it lol

My HH5 B reboots every time it rains, look at your WAN log. My connection drops on a regular basis, BT looked at the fault and said testing ok, 27Mb no problem. Engineer tried speed test several times no fault. Half hour after he left it started to rain, BB slowed then dropped out and continued like that for the rest of the day. It is a common problem with overhead presented wiring but they will do nothing about it. 20 year old drop wire but if the phone is working "that is OK" I have been in dispute with BT since February, spoken to 9 service desk people. They are happy to sell you something but not help with problems. I have found one manager that is helpful but still not forthcoming with refunds or compensation. I took the Total Entertainment pack and on BB served channels HD is problematic Ultra HD no chance. If you are watching on a rainy day it drops the BB channel and you have to keep retuning until the BB comes back on stream. Complete waste of money, which is a shame as the sports channels are a bargain compared with Sky. And if you change provider they are in the same position as BT supply the local loop. Looks like I am off to VM as soon as I get my contract cancelled.

Lots of clearing work recently being done around my (ECI) cab, it was embedded in a jungle of greenery to the point of you could only just see the door and OR have been in working in its innards quite a lot recently as well so i'm hoping things have settled down now.
About to pass 12 days so fingers crossed
