how many times a day does infinity need to re-sync before BT say's there is a fault with the service ? or what is acceptable for this service?
thanks
|
|

No hard and fast rules, but 1 resync a day no one will bat en eyelid.
Ten resyncs every hour and there is a problem and usually the DLM systems will impose lower connection speeds to stabilise things.
Have you ruled out effects of in home wiring, i.e. ran the modem in the test socket and verified that none of the phone extensions work for a phone when doing that.

When you swapped the routers, did you swap the power plug/cable?
Have you also swapped the filter, or is it a built-in Openreach filter? (I'm assuming you don't have an Openreach modem).

Hi RoertoS had to swap power plug and cables over as they would not interchange lol,i have a new openreach mk3 master socket, and no openreach modem just the hh5
|
|
|
When you say swapped cables, does that include the ADSL cable? I didn't think of that one earlier.
Any new or replacement electrical or electronic kit just before this started? Including TVs, Sky boxes, exercise equipment? (Exercise equipment next door can cause trouble as well).

Getting a different modem is not necessary, the homehub does not drop 15 times in an hour unless there is a definite line fault / poor wiring internally (does not seem to be the case) / electrical interference in the property (again does not seem to be the case).
BT are very poor at accepting a fault and getting engineers out in my experience. Is the landline all clear or is there audible noise on the line. You stand a better chance reporting a voice fault a lot of the time, as this impacts the broadband, usually where there are broadband issues there is fuzz on the line which BT have to resolve.

Ahhh, in their 80s.
Maybe one of these.

hi ukhardy07...the line is clear and as you say BT are very poor at accepting a fault and getting engineers out,the last time i contacted them they said there was a line fault and they would monitor it for 72hrs when questioned why as a fault was present he said it was procedure
so 72hrs later they said line was clear ?????

haha Robertos yes there is one next door but has been there for some time lol

A motor characteristic can suddenly change. If for example the brushes are wearing, when they get fully worn down there could be arcing, or if one partially break, the same can happen. Do not discount it, just because it has been there for years.

the hub is sending a termination request ?
|
|
|
|
That's just a code 2 periodic session which is standard when the hub contacts the BT server, often to check for new firmwares etc.
As for the line, there does appear to be a significant issue.

ok thanks both
