9/10 - Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have no access to the IPv6 Internet, or is not configured to use it. This may in the future restrict your ability to reach IPv6-only sites. [more info]

It's interesting that BT have enabled IPv6 exactly like Sky.

/56 overall delegation
/64 WAN IPs configured (at least initially)
No IPv6 DNS (yet)

It's really about time we heard some IPv6-related news from TalkTalk.

I was on a firmware trial for the HH5A, but its not updated since November 15, and wasn't advised on any IPv6. So I'm guessing its rolled out to everyone

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be BT-UK-AS BTnet UK Regional network, GB

Since you have IPv6, we are including a tab that shows how well you can reach other IPv6 sites. [more info]

Good news! Your current configuration will continue to work as web sites enable IPv6.

Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.
Your readiness score
10/10 for your IPv6 stability and readiness, when publishers are forced to go IPv6 only

On Leabrooks exchange infinity 2, using Draytek 2860n with ip v6 turned on and it's set itself up

Sorry I know this is old.

I just got IPv6 too - I changed my DNS servers on my mac to Googles to get 10/10

Is that right? Or are there some I should put into the router from BT? or should I have BT auto give me some?

It's the same with Sky, that the customer DNS servers are not IPv6-enabled even though customer connections are.

Of course that doesn't mean IPv6 addresses can't be looked up, it just means that a DNS server without an IPv4 address (unlikely for some time) will not be able to be accessed by the Sky/BT customer DNS servers .

So not likely to cause lookup failures for quite some time, but something that both ISPs should rectify.

Oliver.

I posted on the BT forums just the other day asking for IPv6 to be enabled, take a look at my thread here if you like.

As mentioned, they can't do IPv6 on a per-user basis for some reason, but when I installed OpenWRT onto an old router and swapped out the HH5, I was able to force it to get me an IPv6 address.

Just like idmanager, I am also on the Leabrooks exchange.

Thanks for all your advice. I re plugged the Hub earlier and lost the IPv6 but a disconnect/reconnect sorted it.

My OVH server was slowing down to a crawl but with this new hub it's flying, I guess it was a IPv6 to IPv4 problem, only been flying since the move over.

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if BT have native IPv6 DNS servers yet?

If yes what are the addresses?

Kind regards,

Adam

Not as far as I know.
My Smart Hub is using IPv6 but hasn't set any IPv6 DNS information shown below:

DNS: Not available

So I assume that to be no, but I might be wrong.

Saying that though, I can ping an IPv6 address by its domain name, so it might be.

You can look up the IPv6 address of a hostname by using an IPv4 DNS server.

I was wondering that myself, but wasn't too sure.

But looking at the list of DNS Servers that our devices use here there is no IPv6 ones listed, so I assume its not using any.
