Out of the frying pan into the fryer

I have recently been allowed to leave another ISP due to throughput issues at peak times. I jumped through a lot of their hoops and even had the obligatory engineer round to check the line before being allowed to "jump ship". I chose to come to BT and am beginning to regret the decision a couple of weeks later.

I have run tap3 tests and the results (a week apart) show what I am experiencing on my 54M sync!!

I have had issues the last couple of days with regular HH6 disconnects, so have also put my old router back into use again.

Trying to raise a complaint results in the fault submitter failing to run after the speed tests, making me then click through several pages before being told to try again!! I raised a complaint and had a call back, despite asking for email communication. They told me categorically that the Tap3 tests mean nothing and they have no access to them. Not what I was told by my last ISP, who specifically asked for them to be run so they could access them and the diagnostics.

TBB speedtests have shown speeds of around 47- 48, whilst TestmyNet shows around a constant 42, that's a lot to lose in overheads.

My Samknows graph also shows a lot of activity in the throughput side of things.

Now i've managed to raise a complaint, interleaving has been applied to my line (for the first time in 4 years) and my attainable rate has dropped from 55meg to 50

Are you clear these days on how to detect you have interleaving on? In this post you seem to think it is, where from comparing with the opening post there those figures haven't changed. Whereas the Opening post clearly shows Fast Path on both downstream and upstream. (D: 1 1)

Plus a 49,000 sync, suggesting to me that banding was in place.

On FTTC it is normal when interleaving is applied for the downstream rate to fall and attainable rise. When it switches back to fast path then the rate rises and attainable falls to approximately the same value.

What has the actual rate done?

I think whenever the last engineer visit was, perhaps that one while at Plusnet, they simply failed to find the cause of the dropouts. Why did you leave Sky in the first place?

As an aside, on Plusnet a one-off payment of £5 would have given you a static IP address, solving the Dyn-DNS problem .

Router states it is a interleaved connection now as opposed to fast path (using the old SSE Technicolor as the HH6 was terrible, bad sync, throughput freezing, dropping connection once a day). Was happily non interleaved until the fault was logged with BT. SSE told me the connection was banded and had it reset, it was them that had BTOR out, and was syncing at 55- 56meg until this week.

The drop outs stopped once the BTOR engineer removed the star? connection that was hidden away in a cupboard.

The phone line hasn't worked properly since leaving. +Net, the ADR system can't won't do anything about it, the problem is caused by Sky (according to the BT Executive Office) and Ofcom aren't interested.

Says on the Tap3 result 49.09, but am currently synced at 50.72.

I left +Net to go to SSE. Along with others the speeds were abysmal, so after a lot of fault finding, I was allowed a free transfer out, hence I am now at BT.

That's not the "Attainable" as per router stats. It is simply the IP Profile. "attainable" in this context is shown in router stats. Like:-
