Information about the BT Business Hub 6 (= SmartHub?)

With their usual lack of documentary enthusiasm, BT appears not to have put much information on the web about this new router, with which we will probably be supplied when we get some new fibre lines from BT.

Please could someone who knows about these things tell me:
1) is the BT Business Hub 6 yet available to business customers?
2) is this the same as the "SmartHub"?
3) does it have any major features to distinguish it from the Home Hub 6?

And specific features which I'd like to know if it supports:
� VPN and SSL VPN Tunnels/VPN termination
- for inter-site connection/meshing
- for Remote Desktop (RDP) from home into work servers and PCs
� adequate number of VPN tunnels and total VPN bandwidth
� "policy-based routing" (which Microsoft and Cisco call "conditional forwarding")
� static routes
� remote management of router (usually switched off, but should be available)
� switchable wireless feature (we don't actually want wireless!)

(Possibly at this point I should say "Hi Sarah!"!)

I'd be shocked if it did half of that, the feature set sounds more like someone who should use a standalone VDSL2 modem and a suitable business grade router.

Sir - you are casting doubt on whether the BT Business Hub 6 is actually not a business-grade router?!

The Draytek Vigor 2860 will do all that, and it has a built-in VDSL2 modem, which has BT SIN 498 MCT Approval (which sounds really good!)...

I know almost nothing about the BT Business Hub 6, but previous iterations have perhaps made me unduly cynical.
I'm after factual experience from someone who uses one of these boxes!

I repeat, and this post of yours makes it even clearer - you have doubts about it being "a business-grade router".

MrSaffron expressed similar doubts and made a recommendation. You dismissed his post in a somewhat surly and supercilious manner, implying he should not express such doubts. I simply pointed out that by making the OP you were expressing doubts.

If your reply to him was meant to be humorous, it's wording was somewhat unfortunate. To an outside reader it came across as simply rude.

I saw a new BT Business Broadband installation made about three weeks ago. This still came with a BT BusinessHub 5 which has a very pretty blue light on the front.

I like the blue light.

I have no idea whether a BT BusinessHub 6 is due/has already been released or whether it has any features beyond the pretty blue light.

I'll be back on site on Tuesday or Wednesday and will look then to see what expected business functionality the BusinessHub 5 fails to provide. I'm sure it's lots, but I suspect you already know that
