Logs suggest something is dropping the PPPoE maybe ISP end.

One question did you reboot the modem a few minutes before posting, as DSL Uptime was only 5 minutes.

No. I just caught dropping on and posted pretty soon afterwards. I'm not sure if it's rebooting itself or not. I think that's a filtered log. I'll catch it tomorrow and see what the full log says.

What's the (495488.200000) PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request] mean? Is the user request coming from our hub?

Nt a question you will know an answer to but who is bt.mo ? A little odd that you are authenticating with a Macao based server

I do not find that odd, both my hubs connect here. Usually whenever my line drops out, it seems to communicate here. Maybe this is BT logging the drop outs?

Just that it looks a little odd and hence the question ... obviously if yours and others connect there then it is probably fine.

As a first action I would ring BT and get a replacement hub, if it continues I would raise a further case with them. See if they will replace the hub for free.

It could be some external interference which does something on a timer and is causing interference and drop outs.

It seems unlikely the hub would be programmed to take itself offline every 23 hours. What I have also seen in the past is when the hub fails to authenticate for updates, it will kick you offline, so perhaps the hub is failing authentication for whatever reason, the fix here is always a new hub (based on the bt forum replies). As far as I've seen BT seem unable to quickly go in and make the problematic hubs authenticate correctly they just change them.

Mystery may have been solved.

Unbeknown to us the floor's alarm system might have been piggy backed onto our line. We're awaiting an engineer to confirm. Will update next week.

This is obviously a long standing problem. There are complaints going back at least 3 years on the BT forums.

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connec...

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connec...

https://community.bt.com/t5/Connected-Devices-Other/...

As the internet is under attack from the Mirai worm seeking routers that use TR069 I would be more than worried about using the BT Hub at all right now.

Well I never got drop outs - and I used to get this right up to the point I disconnected from BT yesterday. every 40 seconds or so.

All in the TR69 logs.

23:20:54, 01 Dec. ppp1:TR69 ConnectionRequest: processing request from ACS
22:49:42, 01 Dec. ppp1:TR69 ConnectionRequest Failed

But not like the other log above.

Nt a question you will know an answer to but who is bt.mo ? A little odd that you are authenticating with a Macao based server

It isn't . The URL is truncated , the address is pbthdm.bt.motive.com

As the internet is under attack from the Mirai worm seeking routers that use TR069 I would be more than worried about using the BT Hub at all right now.

Reminds me of a page I made many years ago: http://www.o2help.co.uk/router-close-port-7547/

Hasn't been my site for a long time though, someone registered the domain when it expired and pulled the content from archive.org for SEO purposes...

Oliver.

Good Point, might have to swap to a Billion and ditch the TTB router which uses TR69. I beleive Billion removed this in the last firmware update.
