Any point in staying on Infinity 2

Just checked HH6 Im getting the following.
Would I get the same data rate on up to 52mb on Infinity 1

Absolutely NO reason to be on Infinity 2 ... Infinity 1 will give exactly the same performance. Why diod you go for Infinity 2 initially?

Yep it would make sense to drop down to infinity 1, speeds should be the same.

The speed was a lot higher initially when it was first available. (3years ago)

I'm considering the same move as my downloads dropped from mid-70's to mid-50's after the first few months.
The one drawback though is that my very good upload speeds -(18.5) - would presumably be halved. Good upload is important as I run a website. Is it worth an extra £15 a month ?

Only you can judge. It depends on how much and how often you upload, and what sort of website it is. Does the website change have immediate commercial significance?

Whatever sort, if each upload takes 20 seconds, does it matter if it takes 40? Similarly with minutes. If it's once a week or less it has to be largely irrelevant. Three times a day 20 minutes >> 40 minutes is a lot. If it takes less than 10 seconds, is it ever going to matter if it takes 20?

True,Roberto. But there is a sneaking suspicion that they may gently lower the download speed also. 55, which I'm getting now, is fine, but I wouldn't like it to dip much lower.
I shall consult BT about it.

You asked about upstream. Has that lowered? That would be unusual.

You won't get a sensible answer from BT. As I said, only you can decide if a loss of upstream speed matters wrt your website uploading.

If your downstream speed drop is the sync, then all ISPs will be basically the same. If it is throughput that is a different kettle of fish entirely.

Upstream is good - as you suggested, I didn't get a sensible answer from BT. They seemed to think I am lucky to be getting 55Mbps. I have also noted that the difference in price for the two packages is a bit lower than I had thought, i.e. about £6 per month.
I also know that a lot of people would die for the speeds I am getting, so I think I'll leave things as they are.
