if you have a mobile phone that can have apps on it, try Wifi Analyzer, it will recommend the best channel.

In all honesty you want devices connecting into 5Ghz wherever possible as it's much much faster. Have you considered a WiFi extender?

This one will boost both the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz signal.

By default the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz have the same SSIDs. Devices are now becoming programmed to choose the 5Ghz signal even if the 2.4Ghz signal is stronger (which it almost always will be), iPhones (IOS11 and higher) now have a preference for 5Ghz, same for macbooks with the latest OS. My PS4 seems to choose the 5Ghz signal always too, even in poor signal.

I have split my SSID now, but just to ensure I never have to touch 2.4Ghz. For a while I had it default and most of my devices opted into 5Ghz.

I bought a second hand BT Smart hub6 on line just to have a spare immediately available should I get any problems.

Paid less than £20 and have to say it works better than my HH5b with wifi.
The HH5 was good but the 6 is much better. I was unsure having read poor reports on some forum inc. the BT one.

As far as I am concerned it just works out of the box, gives excellent wifi coverage and ipv6 which was not available with the HH5.

I have to say that I have experienced the same.
Got the "Smart Hub" six months ago - and no issues up to now. It allows all wireless items to function properly - all around the house (and in the street, too, on my phone.
I assume it must have rebooted at some time or the other - but not often enough for me to notice.

My HH6 was great, miss it, much more reliable than the Sky Q system which often gives me no data throughput on WiFi, but TV boxes keep working - so there is a connection somehow (they are now wireless).
