Strange results , the first I believe is correct on ADSLMax is what I now get after many days of disconections and what I suspect was a stuck IP BRAS profile, any explanation of the second result ? ~ps I'm just happy that the bthomehub 4 '' PPP LCP Send Termination Request [User request]' 'disconnets have stopped for now .

What stats do you see for your service ?

Also, could the direct link results actually be someone elses results, and thats where the link goes directly to ?

If it seems too good to be true, it most surely is.

I'm not unhappy to have a fantastic 7.03 mbps download speed if it stays at that until the magical time we may get FTTP< However it was just a weird result , and I didn't know you could skip the first part of the btspeed test wholesale using this link .

###Shortcut: Rather than go through BT's first speed test to get to the 'Further Diagnostics' option to view your current IP Profile you can visit:##

That isnt ADSL Max. It is ADSL2+.

Downstream sync 8565Kbps and modulation G.992.5.

The IP Profile should be ~7554Kbps.

Edit: Just spotted the IP Profile is indeed 7554 rounded to one decimal place in Mbps at 75.6.

Edit 2: It is possible your ISP has your account in their traffic management system set to ADSL Max. Plusnet have been known to do this, particularly their Current line speed setting. Is it Plusnet?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. 200GB. Sync 68940/13151Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

That is an interesting set of units ... mb/ps milli-bits per pico-second which would translate to Gigabits per second!

VDSL data rates are normally Mbps or Mb/s M for Mega, m for milli.

Just tried that ... and I would suggest it is unreliable. My 76/16 from normal use of the BT tester (and others) comes back as 54/0.25 ! Yes 250 kbps upstream.

Mine says:
DS - 816.97 Mbps
US - 19.28 Mbps
Ping 17.5 ms

Downstream is completely wrong.

My Broadband Speed Test

That's more like it.
