BT Business Smart Hub Guest Network question

When BT Guest Wi-Fi is enabled on is it only available from the Smart Hub in other words not on from the LAN ports?
Do any other third party devices such as a routers configured as Access Point connected to a LAN port on the Smart Hub be used as BT Guest Wi-Fi?
BT Guest Wi-Fi wouldn�t be of much use to me if you cannot extend it to other outbuilding via wireless PtP and router as Access Point.

Not available via the LAN ports but you may be able to get a wireless extender/repeater to work with it

Thanks for your reply. Not suitable for our setup, we already have a PtP working with two pc's and three routers Access Points. Just wondered if Guest Wi-Fi was available via the LAN ports in which case it would have been advantages for us.

Are you on a business connection? Opps should read the title properly. The Bt_Guest_Wifi connection is a public filtered connection and is totally isolated from the main router. Public Wifi on the cheap. We are using it for customer WIFI in some small outlets.

Asking the question in a friend's name who works for a church that is still on the old Broadband limited package that he thought was a business connection and are now looking at an unlimited package as they do have three Wi-Fi APs distributed between two large buildings and the limited usage in the old legacy package is being exceeded and I was looking upgrading but I have now found out that they do not have a business connection so the guest Wi-Fi on the BT Hub is now irrelevant.

I just wondered if the BT Guest Wi-Fi could be monitored and controlled similar to the Ubiquiti Unifi products which unfortunately the church cannot afford.

I run a set of Homeplugs to a Hall, these have the ability to set a guest Wifi. It is worth checking if the existing WiFi APs have the same ability.

The only control I have is to change the Guest WiFi code regularly to prevent all the Kids in the local school using it on their Mobiles. Takes some months for the new code to leak out to them all again.

When routers (Belkin which are the ones we use) with the ability to have Guest Wi-Fi are configured as Access Points the Guest Wi-Fi ability is disabled. Home plugs would not be suitable in our setup as the internet signal is trans mitted via PtP to an adjoining building.

Not being able to monitor the Guest Wi-Fi is not a big issue for us as we can always change the password to the different APs. It would have been nice to have been able to monitor all the APs with Guest Wi-Fi from the BT Hub.
