What do you think of BT's new logo?

I tweeted to them that, however much they paid a design agency to do that for them, I'd have done it for half the price.
Oddly didn't get any response.

Apparently it was created in 2016, announced in May and was due to go live in August...
It appears to have taken a long time to get those 2 letters and a circle from design to implementation.
Other than that there appears to be little to comment on - it is basic and very flat but if that is what they were going for then they succeeded.

Unbelievably boring and tedious. I should start a design agency. Just take the company's initials, give it a "vibrant" colour, and put it in a circle. Call that a logo? [censored] hell. At least the "piper" had some character and the coloured blobs were pretty.

Hi
I thought it was a joke when I first saw it, I can't believe any company would consider that a logo! Imagine being in the meetings with the PR company showing the new logo and hearing them go on about how it was inspired, it's meaning etc, make a good sitcom that would.
I'm hoping it was a cheap in-house re-branding competition rather than a PR firm being paid hundreds of thousands of pounds to come up with that. It's the trademark symbol with TM swapped for BT, presumably to be shown with a TM mark symbol along side!

Phil

My only thought about it was that it is designed so it can roll across the screen in some future advert or adverts. Ending with the BT either upright, or at some other angle appropriate in any particular advert.

Having spent several minutes trying to find a website or logo for them, I pass . All I can find is businesses selling their products, that they are owned by Toyota, and had two previous names.

Mocked in the industry.

It does look better on the van mock ups where it's white against a colour, but still lacking anything original.

And the cost seems to be well spent as you are all talking about it....

In disparaging terms. But I suppose if BT are looking for the "two minute job in MS Paint" vibe they've totally nailed it.

It looks better on the TV screen than what they had before as less solid colour. And that is the most important thing (to me).
