BT New Terms and Conditions

[link to this post]

I received an email today from BT regarding updated T&Cs.
Has anyone else received this email?

It has links to read what’s new for each service that you have from BT.

Problem is, I can’t understand what they are saying has changed.
Can anyone shed some light on this.

Honestly I’m not being lazy, but I can’t get my head round them.

Cheers

I wonder if it's about the concentration on EE as the main BT Group supplier for bundled line/broadband/mobile, with BT Consumer those without mobile?

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro on Three 4+ (LTE)/5G and at home Three Mobile, with (Three)ZTE MF286D router giving about 113/20Mbps.

Yep I few days ago it said lot of nothing.

We're updating your terms

Dear amiga_dude,

We want to let you know that on 1 June 2022 we're updating your terms based on some changes of Ofcom rules. These will include improved protections and rights for you where we make changes to your service.

The changes mean that:

* Some non-beneficial changes to your terms will give you the right to leave with no early termination charges
* There may be situations where we make changes to your terms that allow to leave other products you have with us too, be we'll tell you if that happens
* If we increase the cost of roaming or international calls and texts made by you because the cost to us goes up, you'll have the right to leave your plan if you're materially worst off
* It's clearer that there's a separate set of terms and condtions for each product you have with us

Pleas go to www.bt.com/eecc to find out more
Best wishes
The BT Team

Amiga has posted the link that then list the BT services and the new terms.
What they are saying, I have no idea.

They are in very plain English, something rarely seen with contractual changes along with plenty of explanantions.

Just read through the initial statements and all of the FAQs ...

And NO because of those changes, you cannot leave BT.

No one said anything about leaving.
But hey, thanks for the helpful input.

When you read the main email it does say you can leave if any of the changes are detrimental to to you.

And also in the Terms and conditions when you do click on the link given.
I do believe the “actual” T&Cs, not the email, not the FAQ, are confusing.

I am sure I have read…

They can now put the price up anytime, as well as the yearly price rise.
Among other things.

Roaming costs, it even shoes on to say who owns the cabling.
