FTTP to FTTP migration

[link to this post]

Does migration work the same way with FTTP? i.e. Once ordered, do BT do all the communication with the losing ISP? Some confusing information on the BT website says:

If ordering full fibre broadband with BT, you’ll need to cancel your broadband and TV package with your current provider if you have:

A copper or fibre broadband service
Any broadband service with Virgin Media

Thanks

Mark

If you're on VM (ie. cable) it is entirely separate... then you have to cancel it yourself.

Openreach FTTP to Openreach FTTP is gaining provider led. If the FTTP connections use different networks (e.g. TalkTalk via CityFibre, or an AltNet) then at the moment it's a manual process. In theory in the future we'll have "The One Touch Switching COmpany" (TOTSCO) to enable gaining provider led switches between different networks, but the project keeps getting delayed...

For what it's worth I prefer to switch manually, as it allows me to test the new connection before killing the old one.
