BT credit check

[link to this post]

I was going through the ordering process for broadband (FTTP to FTTP). I got to the credit check page and stopped. Being checked is not a problem, but as it is a hard check, I do not want to be checked if they are not going to offer a choice of installation dates further on. My Sky package ends on 1st July, so do not want the takeover immediately. Can anyone confirm if I will have optional go live dates once I have progressed the credit check?

They did give me a number to ring, but I don't really like call centres.

Thanks

Mark

I had a spare 10 minutes today, so spent 20 minutes on the phone waiting for BT frown They are really pushing people not to sign up with BT, but to sign up with EE as they are "moving all their existing customer base over" and BT will cease to be as a domestic supplier.

The person on the phone had also never heard of the pre- paid cards offered as part of a switch deal either and told me EE was better value, even though the same price, minus the incentive. Apparently once credit check has been completed, transfer dates are offered. They will also pay up to £300 to buy you out of any existing contract!

This whole situation is getting quite confusing, you can clear sign up to BT now as a new customer, you wouldnt though because EE offer the exact same stuff and less money right now. I signed up in Feb 2024 and have a TV box with BT written on it but its known as the EETV Box Pro....but both the remote and box are branded on the outside as BT. I have a 24 month contract and expect to be with BT this entire time. There's a post over there on the BT forums at the moment where a guy is out of contract with BT and cant join EE as a new customer because he is with BT. The whole think stinks at the moment.
