BT Business - loss of service

[link to this post]

Did anyone else suffer a loss of service yesterday, 14th June, from what appears to have been 23:00 to 23:20 BST?

Service went down suddenly. Rebooted my Ubiquiti router - no change. The ONT was hot, so repowered that - no change. The router was telling me there was no service, so resigned to shooting it this morning. Suddenly at 23:20 - all came back to life.

Power, PON - solid green
LAN - flashing green
LOS - Off

All as to be expected ...

Router started with an Experiencing Packet Loss alarm, then a minute later Internet connection down. Then, 20 minutes later Internet Restored

If I disconnect the cable it warns that Cable Disconnected so Router and ONT were communicating.

And Down Detector shoes a massive spike.

Worst part is that I was about to start watching the cricket on iPlayer

So maybe an issue off in magic internet land , beyond the exchange as such.

Worst part is that I was about to start watching the cricket on iPlayer

Bullet dodged 😉. If REALLY lucky it won’t show tennis either <grin>

Interestingly I had a problem with my Unifi network on EE broadband (consumer FTTP). I could ping 8.8.8.8 and make a DNS query to that address, but the Unifi router wasn't providing DNS responses. During this time my active Tailscale session remained up and I could remote desktop to another site.

I rebooted the Unifi router (Cloud Gateway Max) by putting my phone on 4G and coming in via Unifi cloud (so some connectivity was still fine), and that didn't make a difference. I then rebooted the EE router (I am currently double-NATing as on a trial with EE) and everything was restored.

I assume if this was a wider EE/BT issue we'd have heard about it, and it's interesting that we both run Unifi.
