Finally ditched BT

I'm the treasurer of a museum and charity https://becg.org.uk/ When we acquired premises in 2021 I signed us up with Plusnet and got the referral bonus as I'm on PN personally. Then about 2 years ago PN stopped doing business broadband. They offered a very good deal to move to BT so with misgivings, now more than justified, we made the jump.

The BB itself was fine but the billing admin was truly appalling. Ultimately I wrote to the CEO and it was sorted, albeit by a very odd route which I can't be bothered to explain. We vowed to moved away at the end of our 2 year contract and decided on Zen. I think I discussed this in another thread in "Which ISP". The physical switch was painless and Zen's admin is fine.

I'm only now just about sorting out the billing with BT. As I feared, they were utterly incompetent and after a couple of grossly incorrect bills and anguished phone calls I wrote to the CEO again. This morning a very helpful and obviously competent lady phoned me from Glasgow where these things are handled. She found that the cease order had never been processed.. She promised to credit or waive all bills and she agreed that BT would donate £100 to our charity as an apology.

I will believe all this when I see it but I think I can trust her to do the right thing. She clearly had the authority to act.

And I'm writing this from home on my brand new Plusnet full fibre which went live a couple of hours ago.
