What to do if your UPRN has a leading zero?

[link to this post]

The BT Broadband availability Checker ( https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com ) has a UPRN checker and the UPRN needs to be 12 digits long.

However, my UPRN starts with a zero and the system does not recognize it as being 12 digits long!

The test number 123456789012 is OK but 023456789012 is not!

It seems leading zeros are being stripped before the length check is made.

I've just successfully searched the BTW checker using a 10-digit UPRN.

Only search from the first non-zero digit in the UPRN (that is remove any leading zeros), even if that makes the number less than 12 digits long.

UPRN's can be up to 12 digits long but many are not, as per my previous post, one of mine is only 10 digits long and that works absolutely fine with the BTW checker.

My UPRN has three leading zeros!

It's working without them and entering only 9 digits. Somewhat counter intuitive to find that when 12 digits including leading zeros results in the error message "UPRN not in recognised format. UPRN should be a 12 digit number." and the solution is to make it a 9 digit number!
