Re: FTTC - which cabinets and when?

Hey Paul,

Thanks very much for the reply, which was very helpful. I checked using the postcode checker and it made no mention of FTTC, but when I put my telephone number in, it said my cabinet was planned to have FTTC by 30th september with an estimated speed of 24.5mbps down and 10mbps up. Sounds hopeful! Lets hope its true!

Thanks again,

John.

Also waiting on a FTTC enable date - the given date is September 2010 which seems to be still valid, and the cabinet physically exists - I can't move forward until the FTTC is enabled and I can see some speed test results for people using it:

Is it simply a case of putting the postcode into the BT checker every few days and waiting for a fibre speed to come up among the results?

Well I am on the Putney exchange and the BT Wholesale checker states my cabinet is planned ready by 30 Sept and states my line can support Fibre technology, and is giving me an estimate of 17mbps Down and 7.4mbps Up.

Hey all,

Anyone know what cabinets will be enabled in Worcester? RFS date is showing as 01/12/10 in samknows.com. There are two very old looking cabinets (about 3 foot high) near me and the telegraph pole is opposite my house (so will look for the indentifying numbers later).

Many thanks

Dave K.

Looks like the dates for the Putney exchange might have been pushed back. My line is now showing an enable date of 31st December 2010. Tried a few other addresses in Putney and they show the same. Is yours showing the same ChelseaCFC?

UPDATE - Found a couple of addresses which according to BT wholesale checker are now showing as available. Guess that means my address has been put back frown

If it says 31st Dec it means there has been a problem with that cab but it is still planned.
Don't panic wink
