21CN WBC Due on my exchange

hi,

The local exchange to me Drumchapel was supposed to be going 21CN WBC on 31st of march not Live as yet. But what I want to know is will this increase my broadband speed

Enabled as of 31/03/2006

Not available
21CN WBC status:
RFS date set : 31/03/2011

Not available

I currently get just under 8MB on Adsl+2

You will have to renew your contract with your ISP usually in order to get switched over to the new 21CN equipment.

Would it be worth it and benifit from higher down speeds thats worth while renewing my contract

Probably not as your already on an ADSL2+ connection.Your link to the exhcnage will not get any faster, so unless the O2 network in your region is congested and limiting throughput,their is no scope for anything faster unless fibre type services become available to you.

From what you say, you are on O2 LLU so do not go near the BT broadband equipment in the exchange. So the fact they are changing the BT equipment is totally irrelevant to your connection.

Can you confirm you are on O2 Standard, not O2 Access? Many people get confused about that, as both are "up to 8Mbps", so get incorrect advice from us.
