I'm interested in ordering infinity due to me only getting around 3mbps, been waiting for it for ages. I'm about 200m or so crow view and around 400m road distance from the cabinet. According to BT i can only get 10mbps down whereas my neighbors about 30m away from me can get 30mbps down. Is this just BT's estimator showing false speed or is it really losing 20mbps in the 30m distance between my neighbors and I.
Any help would be appreciated
Ciaran.

Look for profile 8c on http://www.buckconsult.co.uk/fttx/BT8cProfilesVDSL2.jpg
200m ~ 650 feet
Yes VDSL2 can really go as fast as that chart suggests, but Openreach is leaving room for crosstalk and will see how fast they can go in the future

I don't understand that graph, i'm quite noobish at this.
Does this mean i will get 10mbps or i will get 20-30's?
Thanks

It says that at 200m 90Mbps is a possible sync for VDSL2, dropping below the 40Meg mark at around 4500 feet (1km)
Hence why most people are seeing really good syncs on the FTTC product (they currently cap sync at 40Meg)

Just called them and they are offering me some under 15mb service -_- Apparently im on a different cabinet than my neighbor even though it's the exact same housing estate etc.

'Course that's still faster than you currently get, and of course, the checker is pants. Read the threads in the fibre section, quite a few have ordered sub fifteen, and got lots more.

I most likely have already read them, i swear i think i read nearly every BT Infinity thread. LOL
+ Im pretty sure it is wrong, cabinets so close to me, all the houses surrounding me are connected to it and it's the only one that servers my housing estate. If i can only get the 10 it's still a nice boost.
Do you happen to know what will happen if the engineer comes out and is able to give me the infinity broadband? It says in my order, "option 3 with fibre."
Will it make a difference do you know?
+ They just disabled my BB talk. Apparently it's not compatible with the home hub 3, sounds like [censored]. Any tricks to getting it to work?

I guess you have ordered then, they are right about BB talk being cancelled as a product, mine went about 20 minutes after the order was placed. If you've ordered sub 15, it's just wait and see time, there's no tricks, just hang over the engineers shoulder and check the stats on their tester.

...just hang over the engineers shoulder and check the stats on their tester. You may wash under your armpits or use a deodorant. Can you vouch for all OR engineers, especially during a late afternoon appointment on a hot day?
