Re: BT to further extend ADSL2+ coverage

I think we are looking at weeks or a month or two, not a matter of days.

As for why BT might not release, there should almost be a larger obligation on TalkTalk who provide ADSL2+ to a wider section of the public

Your theory has its ups and downs
my aunts exchange Aunts Exchange
was enabled in 2005 and is having 21cn wbc ready at the end of the year
whereas my exchange SCOL
was enabled in 2004 and has nothing new on its page!
truro, newquay, penzance, bodmin,st austell all 21cn exchanges and they were enabled in september 09, 8 years after first broadband intall so theory may be right but, it may be due to demand that they are rolling out 21cn in different areas first

Who knows with bt! (British Twits)

In Cornwall, I suspect exchanges are being upgraded in the order they are getting fibre..

Your exchange is expected to get FTTC in 2013 and will be WBC'ed by then.

Looks as if your aunt's exchange is getting FTTC a year or so before you - hence being upgraded sooner.

Sunil

Why do bt 9/10 enable the exchange for 21cn before fttc?
is it because of the backhaul?
oh and check this out for my exchange
Plusnet exchange checker - enter this "WWSCOL"
It is congested! not for me i have full speed now

Without WBC in the exchange, or a nearby one, then there is no where for the data to go.

BT Wholesale does NOT use the old ATM network for backhaul on FTTC.

So do bt have to put new backhaul into the exchange for it to support fttc/wbc-21cn?

but they can link cabinets to a larger exchange, the fibre doesn't care about distance.

James - be* pro - on THFB - sync about 17.2mbps - BQM
