I have a theory:

I reckon 21CN dates for exchanges may have something to do with the ages of DSLAMs in exchanges. For example, in my situation, my exchange was one of the first to be enabled for ADSL in 2003 in the area and so it has older DSLAMs than most others (Which have not been announced for 21CN).

The ones which have even older ones like the nearby town exchange enabled for ADSL in 2001 was enabled for 21CN in 2009 - 2 years ago and it is almost exactly 2 years older than the ADSL date was for my exchange - 2003.

Could it be that BT Wholesale want to get rid of the older DSLAMs and replace it with newer MSANs due to support expiration?
By the figures, it appears as though BT Wholesale replace the older ADSL DSLAMs with newer MSANs after around 8 years?

My exchange was enabled on 04/02/2004, so if that's the case, we should see my enable date set to 31/01/2012. This batch seem to be four months ahead of the RFS of the one example listed so far, so in that case, my RFS should appear by the end of September.

Watch this space (I've a fiver on your theory not being the case, but if I get the RFS date, I'll be happy to part with a fiver).

It is not a simple be at the top of the speedtest league table.

In essence to win things like Akamai leagues people have to buy into the super-fast products

2012 will see 100Mbps to 50% of population, add FTTC and its >25Mbps to around 57% of country. Add the various bids for BDUK superfast funding and 80% looks simple by 2015.

UK will hit the EU target of half homes for 100Mbps by 2020 eight years early.

Oddly in Denmark I hear the same complaints as we get in the UK and adverts are still for 4 to 8Mbps products in last Autumn/Winter (visit a few times each year)

The RFS date for my exchange appeared at the beginning of July

Go look at the metrics they have outlined to score this, things like price of services, and retail competition are pretty high.

In other words many countries have just one or two retail options, so UK trumps them there, and very often on price for basic services too.

Have BT advised when they will release the list of the additional exchanges to be ADSL2+ Enabled?

I doubt BT will never release it! They kept it secret only!

Any reasons for that thinking?
