do you think if i were to get bt to remove interleaving, would that help or make it worse?

Cheers.

Would mean many more errors that are not actually corrected, i.e. make things worse

I think you'd gain no more than 0.5 Meg on Fast Path, but unless your aunt's an avid gamer I would not recommend it as it is more susceptible to errors.

Fix the wiring as previously recommended. That is the cause of the problem, which will keep re-occurring.

Hi there,
just done a bt speedtest on my aunts line after restaring the hub, with it being on for 1 week and here are the results
FAQ

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.

Download Speed
2947 Kbps

0 Kbps 7150 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2947 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8064 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 4500 Kbps

so the ip profile will rase in about 12 hours according to the kitz page, i did find a socket that was not being used, i cannot disconnect it from the socket but it was going through the hallway and out the porch and up into the master bedroom where it is no longer used, so i cut the cable under the carpet, and since then the broadband speed has been getting better although it does not always stay on at 8Mb

i would like to have a new master socket put in but it is not my place to do so, but atleast i found the problem! internal to external then to internal wireing! not good!
but it is better

Cheers.

oh here are the hh3 stats

50 errored seconds on a 16 minute long connection is quite high...

Means the line is [censored].

DLM will probably move the target back up until the errors reduce, losing sync speed.

I'd stop worrying about it, does your aunt really need 7meg from her connection?

not really!, what really amazed me is that she wanted to go back to dialup and i told her not to!, 1Mb will do her, but its nice to have a fast speed when family go out there.

cheers for helping!
