BT 21st Century Network (21CN) rollout

You are connected to the Stepps telephone exchange.
Wholesale Broadband Connect should be available in your area from March 31st 2012

There is currently no 21CN migration date for your PSTN service

It's BT's packet-switched digital network covering both phone and data.

Basically it means you can get up-to-24 Mbit/s ADSL2+ BB offering from ISPs using BT Wholesale's network, incl. BT Retail, Orange, Plusnet and other resellers. Phone (PTSN) has been shelved for the mo'.

Beware: BT's RFS dates have a habit of slipping.

What speed do you connect at now? It may not help your download if you are under 6Mbps, though the upload is usually much higher than ADSL. The stats from your router would be useful if there is any doubt.

We need the other stats from router; esp. Attenuation & Noise Margin.

Otherwise we can't tell if you will not gain from 21CN WBC or you have a wiring issue.

Pending actual attenuation and noise margin figures, perhaps 1 Mbps extra on the downstream, and a doubling of your upstream.

Downstream Attenuation for this line is probably around 42 to 47dB

Yeah i could see some improvement with a WBC product assuming it puts you on ADSL2+.

I see no change on Downstream and over doubling on Upstream when you go to 21CN ADSL2+.

confused No! You talking to me?

I was telling OP what I predict happening to him on 21CN.

As for me on 21CN WBC, my Upstream oscillates between 888 K Interleaved and about 1.2 Meg Fast Path. Long time since I was on 448 K if ever.

So you don't think for the stats posted for that specific user that their upstream will increase significantly above 448Kbps is what you are saying?

I believe you are wrong, so we will have to disagree and wait and see
