I did the round robin with 150 customer service and someone did say that I was on WBC but not ADSL2+ as it wasn't available (?)
Maybe when I can talk to the guy who put the order in for me I can jump the queue and get 2+ Sounds like first-line support with no knowledge of this process. More like what I said - waiting for a bulk (cheap) upgrade. So as you say, see if you can get onto the person you ordered through, but be prepared to pay the extra (one-off) charge for queue-jumping.

According to modem stats my line was moved at 09:45 from alcatel to Infineon cct
so the move happened and the G.dmt is presumably the outcome of the negotiation betwixt modem and MSAN.

I've been told that the order went in and I was moved to the 21CN cct(s) but as my speed was under 8Mb to start with then I was left on ADSL 'up to 8 Mb'
THey are now goingto specifically order 'up to 20Mb' which will force connection to ADSL2+
I'm chasing that to be done at the moment

Your best option is probably ADSL2 rather than ADSL2+. It might just go down to that automatically, but you can force it with a suitable router. You could also ask for that to be set, but not all ISPs understand the question.

I'm hoping the att will only go up around 2db in which case I *think* my 2Wire will cope

so the line is moved onto new kit but not a new service ?
Didn't know they ran the old service on the new kit, customers generally seem to stay on old kit unless moved by ISP regrading to WBC product - are BT Retail selling two different WBC speeds ?

I think its because I have tried to jump the queue - exchange only just upgraded and no emails from BT or no knowledge from BT sales that ADSL2+ is available
There is another guy on the BT forums who has just been put onto 21CN at his exchange but is also still connected to ADSL only service
A BT forum moderator put the order in to move me to new 21cn cct but has to put an extra order in to get me on ADSL2+

The range of WBC options which do cater for an ADSL service on WBC hardware are available to providers to pick from
