Didn't know they ran the old service on the new kit, customers generally seem to stay on old kit unless moved by ISP regrading to WBC product - are BT Retail selling two different WBC speeds ?

I may be getting mixed up between two aspects of this, but it seems that quite often on WBC-enablement of an exchange users can be moved from the old DSLAM onto an MSAN simply as an technical move. No service upgrade. Then (if the ISP requests?) a bulk system upgrade is carried out on a phased basis to ADSL2+.

Certainly the upgrades to ADSL2+ are done on this phased basis. My possible confusion that I referred to is whether the physical connection move and the ADSL2+ upgrades are simultaneous. I don't think it normally is.

It is possible for a user to be upgraded before the bulk job by the ISP paying £11 for that connection to be sooner.

Then we get oddities like Plusnet who have a default 448kbps upstream cap on ADSL2+ connections unless the customer requests it be uncapped. At which point they are warned this could destabilise the line. .

Changeover took place at 1am this morning

Modem log shows ADSL2+ appear but changed to ADSL2 straight away

Actual Line att is 72.9db rather than what is shown below

Thats the closest attenuation i have seen to mine though slightly better than when i was on ADSL2+

Interestingly i had line length just short of 6km from exchange with aluminium cable coming out at 75db attn. Throughput of 1.7meg on a good day. Your noise margin and Output power identical from memory.

Keep us informed how stable it is or not. I rarely had a connection due to dropouts more so over winter or wet and windy days.

Not sure. Old style connections certainly continue on the old kit when exchanges get additional MSAN installations, as opposed to the full 21CN conversion of the whole exchange. Entanet for example don't / didn't move you over.

12 days connection and have a solid connection of around 1.2Mb down

Just a handful of resets where ADSL2+ tries to kick in but immediately settles on ADSL2

So, all this chasing BT was very worthwhile for me
