FTTC IP Profile is currently 96.79% of sync speed, so unless that is being reduced, it could well be for ADSL2+ ???

That's probably the reason that BT want to push more speed on ADSL2+ possible to increasing IP Profile by 1 Meg extra is a bonus, but we have to sit back and wait and see until BT official next year.

Yep FTTC do have 96.79% sync rate while the 21CN ADSL2+ get 88.23% sync rate.

Do you understand why it is already 88% and not the 96% of FTTC. Because of the use of IP data encapsulated in ATM cells, ie. protocol overhead. With major changes you will not gain anything beyond the dynamic IP profile now running on WBC ADSL2+

Depend on your telephone exchange. Even thought I kept pressured on my mate to get FTTC at my local exchange, but he is not responsible of picking as he say BTw pick out of the hat draw of selecting exchanges in UK. But, he promise me that my exchange will have FTTC by the time in 2015.

BT Wholesale don't select the exchanges at all and someone who works for them will have no idea when an exchange is getting it unless already announced but never mind.

However, as I've posted in a less contentious thread not long ago, I would be fairly sure Openreach's rollout plans are heavily influenced by its three major customers' wishes.

Bt 21CN is awful on long lines, when Bt changed the exchange here, I went from a okish 3Mb/s to 2 if i was lucky and i had many weeks of disconnections.

I am glad I don't have to rely on IP profiles now. Ok that can change if at some point I decide to go back to fixed line, but maybe in two years time things will be better, not that I am planning to go back onto a BT system even if I do go back to a fixed line service.
