No more Internet service?

Hi all
Perhaps most of you are aware about the new BT whole sale checker

New look and now will state (for the ones having a cabinet) the number of the cabinet

While was checking in past if any updates for unlucky guys like me, with direct line to exchange...i notice this morning that will not state any product for my address like in the past (was adsl up to 19mb) and also something saying about stopping sales

Is that means they will close down adsl servise as i am still with contract under TT?

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 31-Dec-2013. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Dec-2012; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 31-Dec-2013.

Datastream and IPstream are the old 20CN up to 8Mbit products. They are obsolete on exchanges with any 21CN capability, as yours must have if you have a 19Mbit ADSL2+ service over the BT Wholesale system. BT intend to retire these products so that they can stop maintaining the old 20CN network links, stop worrying about obtaining parts for now obsolete equipment and can use recovered equipment as a source for spares for those exchanges yet to be upgraded to 21CN.

The address checker is nowhere near as reliable as searching using a telephone number. Assuming your number is recognised, what is shown when you search by number?

Phone number they don't recognise it because is been given new from TT
So from what you saying adsl 2 plus still OK

There should be no problem getting BT Wholesale ADSL2+ service if that is available from the exchange.

TalkTalk typically provide service using full LLU, which means that both voice and ADSL are provided using TalkTalk equipment and the line is unknown to BT Wholesale.

OP says he is getting 19 Meg from TT. So he is on TT's ADSL2+ LLU, but his exchange could still be 20CN and then he wouldn't be able to get 19 Meg from BTw.

No! Those results have nothing to do with TT if you are getting 19 Meg from them on ADSL2+ LLU. They are only relevant to BT and other BTw ISPs, like Plusnet & EE.

If the exchange was pure 20CN (with people like TalkTalk doing LLU) then there would be no withdrawal date yet.

Ah, OK! I just wondered whether it was a blanket disclaimer.

The dates vary per exchange, I did check a few permutations before my news item.

Note i just clicked reply to a random edit tab and personally dont mean to a specific user

once i see more reply's and THANKS for that are all welcome ... was estimating speed before the checker update 11-19mb (older version)
TT was claiming 14 mb (when singed up)

my modem stats from a draytek 2850n is below
Note usually draytek is synchronizing with 15.000 (same as the dsl 2680 TT supplied modem but i have seen both go and up to 16.000 untweaked both just the draytek can take some other firmwares codes for compability and is not tweaked firmwares as they dont tweak their modems like billion 7800 )
but last night (not sure if the snow or weather changes cost to make any changes) so got about 5 disconnections (with the draytek) where at this rate 13.000 stayed very stable with no drops there after

Use fast path and SNr set at 9db, loop attenuator 29 (the current loop 36 is because i am using a different draytek firmware modem code that suppose to make little more stable the 2850)
At TT LLU is infineon and 2850n uses ADI chippest which seems fine with TT equipment

I have also tested a billion 7800 (unteaked) and getting max 14000 broadcom and an asus N55U (untweaked again) which also getting 14000 maximum Ralink)

Connection EO exchange direct (no cabinet) at 2.400 meters away (told by BT openreach engineer when done the instillation

How will understand if i am connected all ready with 21cn??they do automatic?or TT has let me out and forgot me?

TalkTalk has its own ADSL2+ hardware at the exchange and will thus be connecting you to their own hardware and backhaul.

So the changes/date in the checker have no bearing on you.

Your telephone is also with TalkTalk and thus nothign to do with BT Wholesale.

As I told you earlier, 21CN has nothing to do with TT. Nobody's forgotten you. TT just don't care a fig about 21CN as they have their own kit (LLU) at the exchange that does more or less the same as 21CN.
